Brian Head Resort is pushing its 2025-26 season to the limit, announcing a surprise addition to its spring schedule. According to reporting from SnowBrains, the Utah-based resort will now open its lifts on Friday, May 1, creating a three-day "bonus weekend" that runs through May 3.
High-Altitude Spring Skiing
The resort attributes this late-season extension to favorable conditions maintained by its high-altitude base. Sitting at 9,600 feet—the highest base elevation in Utah—Brian Head has managed to keep snow coverage intact well into May. Recent cold temperatures and fresh snowfall have allowed crews to fire up the snowmaking equipment once more to prepare the Giant Steps terrain for the final push.

$1 Lift Tickets
In a move to celebrate the final turns of the season, Brian Head is offering $1 lift tickets for the newly added Friday. This initiative, highlighted by General Manager Tom Pettigrew, aims to make the final day of skiing accessible to the entire community. Guests will have access to 12 trails served by the Giant Steps Express and a base-area conveyor lift.

Closing Weekend Festivities
Following the $1 ticket day, the resort will proceed with its previously planned closing festivities on Saturday, May 2. The event includes:
- Raffle giveaways where every lift scan counts as an entry.
- Bonus raffle entries for guests who arrive in costume.
- A mountain-wide group photo at the summit of Giant Steps at noon.
- Live DJ performances on the Giant Steps Lodge patio throughout the day.
Prizes up for grabs include lift tickets, a weekday season pass, and an overnight stay at the Brian Head Lodge. This extension marks the culmination of a long season for the resort, which was the first in Utah to open for the 2025-26 winter on November 21, 2025.
